Ingrid Nembhard, PhD, MS Fishman Family President's Distinguished Associate Professor, Health Care Management, Wharton SchoolIngrid Nembhard PhD, MS, is the Fishman Family President's Distinguished Associate Professor of Health Care Management at The Wharton School at Penn. Her research focuses on how characteristics of health care organizations, their leaders, and staff contribute to their ability to implement new practices, engage in continuous organizational learning, and ultimately improve quality of care.Professor Nembhard's research has provided and continues to provide insights about two issues primarily: 1) organizational learning in health care, and 2) the work environment for health care professionals. She integrates knowledge of organizational behavior, organizational theory, and health services research, and uses qualitative and quantitative research methods to answer questions in health care management from provider and patient perspectives, and to evaluate organizational performance. She is the former Associate Editor for Health Care Management Review, an Executive Committee Member for the Academy of Management's Health Care Management Division, multiple-time member of AcademyHealth's Organizational Behavior and Management Theme Committee, and prior member of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality's (AHRQ's) Health Care Research and Training Study Section.
