Research Day is a joint project of the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Informatics (DBEI) and the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics (CCEB). The day will include:
8 a.m.: Breakfast, research posters on display9 a.m. to noon: In-depth looks at high-impact faculty research: Hongzhe Li, PhD (biostatistics), Sean Hennessy, PharmD, PhD (epidemiology) and Blanca Himes, PhD (informatics), respectively. Followed by our popular trainee flash talks and prize competition!Noon to 1:30 p.m.: Research posters and lunch1:30 p.m.: Brian L. Strom Visiting Professorship Lecture by Sue Curry, PhD, recognized internationally for her expertise in behavioral science and in translation of research findings into health policy. Dr. Curry's work addresses ways to stop tobacco use, change diet, modify risky drinking patterns, and increase compliance with recommended cancer screening. She is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Health Management and Policy at the University of Iowa College of Public Health, which she served formerly as Dean.
