Dr. Jodi Segal is a professor of medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She has joint appointments in health policy and management, and epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Segal is internationally recognized as a clinician-investigator in comparative effectiveness research and pharmacoepidemiology.
Her research interests include pharmacoepidemiology, comparative effectiveness research and evidence-based medicine. Dr. Segal and her team have been tapped by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to conduct research to find out why physicians opt to prescribe costlier brand-name drugs when generic ones are available.
