"Challenges with evaluating the impact of an implementation project in resource-limited settings" Natella Rakhmanina, MD, PhD, FAAP, FCP, AAHIVSProfessor of PediatricsThe George Washington UniversityDirector of HIV Services & Special ImmunologyChildren's National Health SystemNatella Rakhmanina, MD, PhD is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at George Washington University and the Director of the Special Immunology Pediatric HIV Program at Children's National Medical Center. Natella received her MD degree at People's Friendship University in Moscow, Russia and obtained her PhD degree at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. She is board certified in pediatric and HIV medicine. Dr. Rakhmanina focuses her research on the pharmacology of the antiretroviral drugs in women, childrenand adolescents. She is one of the national leaders in promoting routine HIV screening of adolescents and youth in the health care settings. Dr. Rakhmanina is a successful clinical researcher and served as a principal investigator of several NIH and CDC funded HIV studies. Since 2014, she also serves as a Director of Technical Leadership Team at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation working on multiple international pediatric HIV projects in resource-limited settings. Natella is an elected member of the Board of Directors of the HIV Medicine Association for the Pediatric/Adolescent Medicine Seat, member of the Committee on Pediatric AIDS at the American Academy of Pediatrics and member of the Department of Health and Human Services Panel on the Pediatric Antiretroviral Therapy and Management Guidelines at the Office of AIDS Research Advisory Council in National Institutes of Health.
