Dr. Murphy is a health economist and Director of the CHERISH Consultation Service - http://www.cherishresearch.org/methodology/consultation/. CHERISH – The Center for Health Economics of Treatment Interventions for Substance Use Disorder, HCV, and HIV – is a multi-institutional Center of Excellence, funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (P30DA040500). Dr. Murphy's research focus is the treatment of substance-use and related disorders. His work includes comparative economic and effectiveness evaluations alongside clinical trials and cohort studies, claims-based analyses, and evaluating determinants of treatment access, outcomes, and adverse effects. Dr. Murphy's current work includes evaluating opioid use disorder therapies in various settings, such as substance use treatment facilities, harm reduction agencies, and Federally Qualified Health Centers.
